PAUL Upperton won the Gentlemen’s Monthly Medal and EGU Gold Medal qualifying round at Budock Vean Golf Club on Sunday.
His net score of 67 placed ahead of Robert Gibson, John Rule and David Penrose, all of whom scored 68, and continues Upperton’s recent good form which has seen him win four of the last five competitions.
On Wednesday, Barbara Craig won the Ladies EWGA Medal competition. Craig achieved a score of 76 ahead of Sue Rule with 77, and Nina Hann with 81.
The close score bodes well for the Ladies’ annual match later this week, an event which is always hotly contested.
David Townsend won the Seniors’ Stableford last Tuesday, scoring 35 points ahead of Roger Mildren and Rod Butler who scored 34 and 33 respectively.
