PAIRINGS of gentlemen took to the course at Budock Vean to battle it out for the Joe Nathan Memorial Shield on Sunday.
A week beforehand a draw was made to see who would partner each other, with low and high handicap golfers being put together.
Each player took their own tee shot before deciding which ball is best placed go to the hole from there.
Winning with an excellent score of 44 points were David Stevens and Keith Whitbread, putting them one ahead of Rod Butler and Andrew Varney who claimed second place on count back from Kevin Bate and Martin Salome.
Earlier in the week, the seniors played a medal competition for the Spring Trophy, which Stephen Crouch won with a net total of 64. Colin Parsons finished second on 65 and John Rule claimed third with 66.
The Ladies played a Stableford competition for the Samuel Trophy with Mae Brown winning with a score of 35. Sue Parsons came second and Denise Power third.
