Organisers of this summer’s Falmouth Week Regatta have announced that the popular dinghy section is set to return to the main regatta week, with racing from August 12th-18th.

Seven days of top racing action is promised in the Carrick Roads at Falmouth, with racers able to base themselves at any of the clubs that make up the Port of Falmouth Sailing Association, who are hosting the racing.

Race officer Nigel Sharp said: “We are very pleased to welcome dinghies back into Falmouth Week again.

"I’m delighted that they will be racing in the same stretch of the Carrick Roads as other classes for the first time for many years."

Shoreside there are activities for the whole family, from a marching carnival and a firework display to themed party nights and samba bands. In Falmouth’s Events Square each day there is a Cornish crafts market while in the evenings there is a great line-up of live music.

Enjoy street theatre, dance, guided walks as well as evening gig racing, swimming races and activities for kids including rock pooling sessions and special events at the National Maritime Museum, Gyllyngdune Gardens, and Pendennis Castle.
