With strong winds, rain and thick fog only two St Mawes One Designs braved the elements on Friday night.
OD 32 Skimmia sailed out but sailed in prior to the start and OD 42 Rebel (Andy and Luke Stephenson) defied the elements and sailed the race and took first place.
It was a brave decision by them and those watching shoreside were delighted by the effort.
Unfortunately no SMODs raced in the Mylor Village Regatta on Sunday although several had entered.
OD 8 White Rose (R. Brown-Trenoweth and S.Seviour) and OD 6 Robin Hood (D and E Mantle) were the only two boats to make it around to Mylor with OD 26 Kelpie (J and R Dunn) turning around and sailing home at Flushing.
With the wind rising and with strong gusts OD 8 White Rose turned for home followed by OD 6 Robin Hood.
