BEN Ambrose’s excellent form keeps on going as the Falmouth and Penryn Boxing Club fight won his sixth bout in a row.

On Saturday he stepped into the ring in Truro to take on Y Cubuk from Paignton, who is the Three Counties champion and has a lot of experience.

It proved to be an exciting fight as Cubuk came out with all guns blazing in the opening round as he swung some big shots at Ambrose.

However, Ambrose kept steady and managed to see off these shots to outbox his opponent in the round.

Things took a turn for the worse in the second though as after he missed a left hook, Cubuk countered and sent Ambrose onto the canvas.

He managed to recover though after a standing count and he came back with some heavy shots.

With the result down to the final round, Ambrose showed plenty of guts to outbox him again and get a unanimous decision in his favour from the judges.

The club train every Tuesday between 7.30pm and 9pm at the Dracaena Centre in Falmouth.
