MICHAEL Walters overtook his sister Libby as the South West Shinty League after scoring five goals for Mabe on Saturday.

These helped the team defeat Falmouth 9-6 during an exciting game which saw the hosts take the lead after two minutes through Matt Mossop.

Brendan Kelly soon doubled the advantage before Walters got his first of the afternoon and Mary Walsh made it 4-0 before the half hour.

Walters’ second goal sparked a frantic period of the game as the ball flew in four times in five minutes, making the score 7-1.

Falmouth finished the match strongly to grab five goals in ten minutes, with Jacob Harrell and Craig-Lee Holt getting them.

Elsewhere in the league, Camborne School of Mines worked hard to get a 2-1 win over Exeter.

Luke Sparrow opened the scoring after four minutes before Tom Carlin equalised from the halfway line.

Holt put CSM back ahead though in the 34th minute with his first goal for the team.
