GROUND has been lost by Falmouth Docks A in their West Cornwall Table Tennis League title challenge.

The side now sit five points behind Bridge A after recording a 8-2 win over Docks B and a draw against Docks D.

Mark Meijvis had a superb couple of games winning all six matches while Adrian Noott picked up three victories.

Their slip up allowed Bridge A to build a lead at the top of the table with a 8-2 win against St Ives A, with Austin Chapman losing just one end during the match.

Things are a lot tighter at the top of Division One as Mylor A have just a one point advantage over Palace B.

Mylor’s latest round of fixtures saw them beat Harris Mill 6-4 before stuffing their B team colleagues 9-1.

David White bagged four wins out six over the matches, while his colleagues Ian Bell and Chris Bassett finished with 100 per cent records from their three ties.

Pressure is being kept on them by Palace, who blasted Marazion away 9-1 and Docks J 7-3, both teams having just two players each.

Elsewhere in the division, there was an interesting inter-club clash between Docks H and Docks G as the teams shared the points.

Howard Baker produced a strong performance with five wins from six while Mark Snowdon and Stuart Denslow won four out of six.

Proceedings are more clear cut in Division Two as Saracens A lead the way by 19 points.

With nearest rivals Mylor C drawing at St Ives C and only narrowly beating Docks M 6-4, the Penryn-based team increased their advantage with a couple of 9-1 victories.

The first was against Saracens B which saw Morgan Cardell and Aiden Rollason win all three of their matches comfortable while Joe Tuffrey dropped just one point.

After this, they went onto crush a two-man Palace C side.
