Following last month's postponement of the Cornish Pirates versus London Welsh fixture in the Greene King IPA Championship, the eagerly awaited rescheduled game now takes place on Sunday at the Mennaye Field, Penzance (ko 3pm).

This contest promises to be an entertaining, high tempo affair, and with improved weather supporters should witness the exciting brand of rugby played at Bristol on Sunday.

The Pirates have made a number of changes to the team that although losing still performed so well at the 'Mem'. Mike Pope returns on the wing and Rheon James, who appeared off the bench last week following his loan spell at Aberavon, is selected to partner Tom Riley in the centre.

Four forwards, namely prop Shane Cahill, hooker Rob Elloway, lock Darren Barry and flanker Chris Morgan are back to action, the latter taking back the skipper's armband worn at Bristol by Aaron Carpenter, who makes the move from the middle of the front-row back to No. 8.

Commenting ahead of Sunday's game Ian Davies, Director of Rugby at the Cornish Pirates, said:

"A very tough match is expected as London Welsh have performed consistently all season and it is no surprise to see them challenging for promotion.

"Our challenge is to maintain the attacking intent we showed against Bristol and give the home supporters a performance to be proud of."
