Their local rivals Redruth picked up an extra point too on their travels to Cambridge, but it came in a losing cause as they fell to a 27-20 scoreline.
Penryn's good start to the season halted as they collapsed to a 29-7 loss at Tiverton, while Saltash beat Falmouth Eagles 32-17.
