A TOTAL of nine changes have been made to the Cornish Pirates starting line-up for their British and Irish Cup match with Bedford Blues on Sunday.

Among those coming into the squad are full-back Craig Holland who has been sidelined recently through injury while Todd Lowry and Tyler Gendall, both signed up in the summer via the club's Player Development Foundation scheme, also feature.

After starting in the win against Doncaster on Saturday, Aaron Carpenter and Jack Andrew move to the bench while Matt Evans, Tom Riley, Tom Hendrickson, Kyle Moyle, Alan Paver, Darren Barry and Laurie McGlone are all rested.

Pirates director of rugby Ian Davies is expecting a tough game with Bedford, who sit three places above them in the Greene King IPA Championship table.

Davies said: "We are all aware that Bedford Blues take the Cup seriously and that they have a proud record in previous competitions.

"The Blues started their season slowly but they have come into a bit of form of recent and because we also take the Cup seriously a bit of a battle is naturally expected this weekend."

The match has been labelled by the club as their Family Fun Day, with a special ticket price of £10 for one adult and a child or £15 for two adults and a child.

Attractions such as laser tag, face painting, giant jenga and mascot races will be held alongside the rugby.
