A HIGH intensity performance from Penryn's Under 13s side blew away their rivals Falmouth with 12 tries in a 78-10 derby victory.

Straight from the kick-off, Borough pressurised their hosts with the forwards forcing a turnover which resulted in number eight Jack Truen running free to get the opening score.

Truen went over again two minutes later as he ran from the back of a scrum from five metres out and it would be from the same set piece which saw the third try secured through left winger Sam Price.

Borough bossed the reminder of the half with the Finlay McGougan, Issac Wagland and Oliver Kingsbury winning the front row battle as plenty of power came from behind them.

This helped them run riot with further tries from Sam Ahearne, Dan Price who scored two and Truen, completing a first half hat-trick, seeing them build a 45-0 lead at the interval.

Ahearne got another score not long after the restart before a more determined looking Falmouth had a strong spell of possession which led to their first try.

Penryn's captain Charlie Levick spurred his side back into action with a lovely solo effort try as he sidestepped and broke through tackles.

Falmouth responded with another good push into Borough's territory which resulted in their second try, but the visitors galvanised again with the forwards taking charge once more.

Sam Hammersley, who finished the game with nine conversions, sent a deft cross-field kick into the path of winger Bartosz Machnik, who after drawing in Falmouth's defence popped the ball to Ahearne who ran in and secured his hat-trick.

Will Pyatt and Archie Bawden completed the scoring for Penryn with the latter running through five home forwards and across 60m of the pitch to dot down.
