CAMBORNE’S slim hopes of finishing in the South West One play-off position took a further dent with this away day defeat in Gloucestershire.

Town were without skipper Steve Kenward, plus Grant Thirlby and James Goldsworthy for their longest trip of the season.

They also had to endure a protracted journey with their bus having to be replaced at Exeter due to a mechanical failure.

The visitors started slowly falling ten points behind early on and never really recovered.

The forwards worked hard throughout with flanker Tony Whittle to the fore, but a penalty from the boot of fly-half David Mankee was their solitary score as half time arrived with mid-table Drybrook leading 13-3.

The hosts improved their lead with a further penalty before Camborne hit back with an unconverted try by full-back Alex Ducker.Camborne worked hard to get back in the game but never really threatened in the final quarter.
