Helston have escapes relegation to Cornwall Two
RELEGATION from Tribute Cornwall One has been confirmed for Stithians – meaning Helston survive the drop.
A nervy three weeks have been endured by the Clodgey Lane outfit as their life in the division would only be guaranteed if champions Newquay Hornets beat Stithians.
After a couple of postponements, it was finally confirmed on Saturday the Hornets had been awarded the victory with a walkover.
Helston’s final game of the league season saw them beat Stithians 36-23.
They will meet again on Saturday in the Cornwall Clubs Cup.
In their first game of the competition, Helston were beaten 32-27 at home by Lanner, who recently won promotion from Tribute Cornwall Two.
