JUST under a month since the last time these sides met in a league relegation decider, Stithians and Helston came to blows again on the rugby pitch.

The Clodgey Lane outfit won their previous encounter at their home 36-23, helping them stay in Tribute Cornwall One for another season.

However, this time Niall Devenish’s side put the Clarets to the sword with an emphatic 40-7 victory on the road in the Cornwall Clubs Cup.

Since the match on January 24, Stithians have lost the services of fly-half Martin Strick and prop Ryan Burley, who have both joined Penryn.

Their squad was overpowered by Helston who ran in six tries over the 80 minutes.

Pete Mabbott got over the whitewash twice for the Blues along with tries from Ross Hale, Matt Penrose, Ben Lenderyou and Ross Williams being added.

Calvin Warwick was also in fine form with the boot as kicked five conversions.

Andrew Lee made sure it was not an afternoon to truly forget for Stithians as he scored their only try of the match.

Helston's defenders do all they can to get the ball from Stithians.
