Helston U12s 0

Falmouth U12s 35

FALMOUTH’S Under 12s managed to complete a shut-out against Helston in their 35-0 victory.

Both teams started hesitantly, but Falmouth eventually found their rhythm to work through the phases which saw Milo Hallam finish a move he started with a crunching run down the middle for the opening try.

Jack King had superb game for the Eagles in attack and defence, with his reward coming from a hat-trick of tries before half time.

Players were shuffled around after the interval and Helston got back into the game, turning the ball over from Falmouth on several occasions.

They could not convert this into any points though, with the only score of the half coming from William Becconsall, who spotted space down the blindside to beat four players and dive over the line.

Penzance U12s 0

Falmouth U12s 26

IN their second game of the day, Falmouth’s Under 12s recorded another victory, this time against Penzance.

Just as they did in the first match, the Eagles’ defence managed to keep their opponents away from their try-zone, running out 26-0 winners.

From the kick-off, Falmouth immediately put Penzance under pressure and quick thinking by William Becconsall intercepted a pass and sprinted home for the opening try.

Another venture was made to the Penzance try-line after powerful runs from Thomas Trebilcock, Zac Hudson and Josh Collins before a quick recycle let Milo Hallam in to make the score 12-0 at half time.

Intense pressure was put on Falmouth’s defence after the break, but the defence held firm and after a turnover, Hallam shrugged off several Penzance tackles to get his second try of the match.

Becconsall finished the game off with a try in the last couple of minutes after pouncing on a loose pass by Penzance near their own goal area.
