DESPITE losing the Plate Final on Sunday, Falmouth’s Under 13s can hold their heads up high.

The side came up against a strong Newquay side who claimed the spoils with a 36-0 win in the match played at St Ives.

Newquay’s effort at the breakdown and kicking game proved too much for Falmouth to handle on the day with four tries scored in the first half.

The Eagles’ defence improved after the break as they restricted Newquay to a single try in the second half, but their valiant efforts in attack could breach their opponents.

Having started the season with low numbers, recruits have been building for Falmouth’s squad and reaching the final showed the progress being made.

They are now looking ahead to next season where the hope is to continue building on the strength of the squad.
