HELSTON Under 15s secured the Cornwall Plate title by beating Falmouth 29-12 in their own back yard.

Early exchanges saw the Blues’ forwards dominate in the rucks with the pressure building up until their skipper Lewis Eustice dived over the whitewash before being followed not long afterwards by winger Sean Joblin.

In the second half Falmouth did all they could to exert their home advantage and managed to go over in the corner, but within minutes of the restart Helston’s pack again showed its strength.

Their power set up a try for Matt Hall, with the scrum-half repeating the feat ten minutes later.

A converted try was picked up by Falmouth as they looked to close the gap, but fly-half Matthew Shaw rounded the match off by picking up a grubber kick along the touchline before dotting the ball down.
