ENTERTAINMENT was provided in Falmouth Under 13s' last game of the season as they defeated Launceston 40-38.

It capped off what has been a topsy turvy campaign for the young Eagles, which saw them start off with just eight players before managing to rebuild their squad into a competitive outfit.

Falmouth made a wonderful start as they received the ball from the kick-off, managed to keep it alive and setting up Jacob Allies for the opening try.

Guy Brooks double the score moments later when he profited from the ball being ripped out of a maul, but the visitors got in a response as they went over in the corner.

Further tries were exchanged between the teams before Launceston levelled the scores just before the half time break.

They would take the lead shortly after the break with another dot down and although Falmouth managed to pin back their opponents in the 22, a turnover allowed the away side to score another try.

A big response was needed from Falmouth and it was received when the pack drove their way over the line before Dylan Caban's excellent interception saw him run over the whitewash.

The hosts were now brimming with confidence and two well worked tries stretched their advantage out even further.

Launceston caught the home side napping late on to provide a tense finish, but Falmouth hung on to the victory.
