Falmouth RFC will visit near-neighbours Truro in their opening game of the 2018/19 Tribute Western Counties West season.

The new season is set to begin on Saturday, September 1, with the local derby at St Clements Hill pencilled in for that weekend.

The two teams will also meet on the final day of the season for the reverse fixture at Falmouth’s Recreation Ground.

The Eagles’ first match at the Rec will be against Wadebridge Camels on Saturday, September 8.

Falmouth will travel to newly-promoted Saltash on November 17, before hosting them on March 9.

They visit fellow Cornish side St Austell on December 1, with the Saints returning the favour on March 30.

Falmouth retained their Western Counties West status in dramatic fashion last season, narrowly avoiding relegation on the final day.

  • Penryn RFC’s first game of the new Tribute Cornwall/Devon season will also be away from home, as they travel to Plymstock Albion Oaks on Saturday, September 1.

Similarly to their neighbours in the division above, the two sides will meet in the reverse fixture at Penryn’s Memorial Ground on the final day of the season on Saturday, April 13.

Penryn’s first game on home soil will come against newly-promoted South Molton, who won last season’s Tribute Devon 1, on Saturday, September 8.

They are set to entertain fellow West Cornwall clubs Lanner, Hayle and Pirates Amateurs on October 6, February 9 and March 30 respectively.
