Truro City fell to a second successive defeat in the Blue Square Bet Conference South away at Basingstoke.
City fell behind to an own goal from Arran Pugh after six minutes and were 2-0 behind at the break, thanks to a header from Delano Sam-Yorke.
Truro managed to get a goal back at the start of the second half, through Stewart Yetton, but could not find an equaliser.
Scott Walker came closest, but saw his free-kick hit the post.
