Truro City were hit by another late goal on Tuesday night as Havant and Waterlooville fought back to salvage a late draw in their Blue Square Bet Conference South match.

Truro were denied a point away at newly-promoted Billericay Town on Saturday thanks to a goal from Sam Lechmere in the 89th minute.

And it was an injury-time strike from Havant and Waterlooville's Ollie Palmer, which denied the White Tigers from claiming all three points a Treyew Road three days later.

Truro City recalled Andy Watkins to the starting line-up, after he had missed Saturday's defeat to Billericay with a grion injury.

Stewart Yetton, also returning from injury, started on the bench.

Truro City started brightly and it was Watkins who gave them a deserved lead in the 17th minute cutting inside from the wing and beating the keeper with a low drive.

Havant and Waterloville rattled the City crossbar in the closing stages of the half, but Truro went into the break with their lead in tact.

Watkins then delighted the majority of the 390 spectators watching the game by grabbing his second goal, before Jake Ash tested the Havant and Waterloville keeper with an excellent free-kick.

At the other end Tim Sandercombe did well to save a shot from Scott Jones, before Havant were given a route back into the match on 62 minutes. A mix up between Arran Pugh and Sandercombe at the back saw the ball drop to Palmer, who was left with a tap-in.

However, the points looked all but secured for Truro midway through the half when Les Afful was tripped in the area. This allowed Ash to restore City's two-goal advantage from the penalty spot.

It was not to be City's night though as back came Havant and Waterlooville. They made it 3-2 with ten minutes to go thanks to a strike from Christian Nanetti. Then Palmer completed the fightback in injury time.
