FOR those keen to discover Christmas presents with a difference, the free entrance Trevarno Christmas Fair on Saturday December 6 and Sunday 7 will be the ultimate traditional shopping experience.

with over a 100 stall holders in a specially erected marquee on the elegant Trevarno great lawn. From beautiful hand-made toys, clothes and accessories to delicious food and drinks, the spirit of Christmas will abound, with local designers and craftspeople displaying their finest festive wares. In the beautiful, safe and relaxed natural setting, children will be kept entertained with complimentary face-painting and music - complete with a traditional steam organ and afternoon band, while mums and dads can feel free to seek out the unique and imaginative gift ideas. As a special treat, Santa will be offering sleigh rides for donations to a local charity. Alongside hand-crafted jewellery, fabrics, photography, artwork, ceramics, woodwork and Trevarno’s own Organics range, which includes internationally-renowned soap and skincare products - will be readily available. Those inspired by the natural surroundings may want to explore Trevarno’s plant sales, whilst anyone with a sweet tooth or an eye for a feast can indulge themselves with delicious cakes, delectable chutneys, scrumptious jams or a full Hog Roast in the courtyard. The Trevarno team has also put together a stunning range of handcrafted gifts including Christmas tree decorations and cards, glass and ceramics, festive scented candles and beautifully wrapped gift packs from talented local designers – all of which will be available in the gift shop throughout December.

Straying away from the marquee, visitors can enjoy the delights of the historic gardens and grounds in all their winter glory. From the Victorian Boating Lake to the Italian Garden, Trevarno is inspiring and refreshing at this time of year. An invigorating walk through majestic trees and out across the rural landscape is certain to lift the spirit, and afterwards a Warm Brandied Spiced Wine, Fairtrade Hot Chocolate or sumptuous cappuccino from Trevarno’s Fountain Garden Conservatory can be enjoyed in front of a warming log fire in the Victorian tea room – the perfect end to a perfect day of Christmas shopping.

“Our Christmas Craft Fair is always a fantastic event,” says General Manager, Richard Cox: “Lots of people dread fighting for parking spaces and the big queues in city centres, however here at Trevarno it’s an enjoyable experience discovering gifts that are out-of-the-ordinary, unique and locally-made. The Fair is a sociable and traditional event – families come along to meet each other, there’s plenty to keep the children occupied and it’s a safe and relaxed environment. You can have a look at all the gifts, handicraft and produce and enjoy a full family day out at the same time. And of course, it’s all free. Christmas is the time for giving after all.”
