Two people have been arrested in Camborne after reports of a man being threatened by a woman waving a knife were made to the police.

Police were called to Trelowarren Street in Camborne at 11.05am on Tuesday, May 7 after receiving reports of an altercation.

A woman was reported to have threatened a man with a knife and another man had been assaulted by another suspect causing him minor injuries.

Police say a woman in her 40s from Camborne was arrested on suspicion of affray and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

While a man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of assault ABH and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

Both were bailed by police until June 11.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: “Police were called at 11.05am on Tuesday, May 7 following reports of an altercation in Trelowarren Street, Camborne.

A woman, believed to be in possession of a knife, had reportedly made threats towards a man.

“Another man had also been assaulted by a male suspect. The victim sustained injuries which are not believed serious. Officers attended. A woman in her 40s from Camborne was arrested on suspicion of affray and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

"A man in his 30s, also from Camborne, was arrested on suspicion of assault ABH and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place. Both have been released on bail until 11 June.”
