The funeral service has taken place at St Keverne Parish Church of Charlie Trewern who passed away at the Royal Cornwall Hospital at Treliske on October 21, aged 83. The service was conducted by the Rev Peter Sharpe and the organist was David Steele.

Mr Trewern was born in Penzance on October 4, 1933, the son of Lily and Ernie Trewern. He attended Trythall School. At the aged of 11 he moved to Kernewas where he hunted with the Cury Hunt. He then attended Mawgan School and Zoar Chapel. He later married Kitty at St Keverne Parish Church and they lived at Parc-an-Quatty for six years where they had their children Larry and Judy.

On moving to Halvosso Farm Mr Trewern joined Four Burrow Hunt and Carnkie Dance Group. He retired at the age of 63 and he and his wife moved to Polkanuggo Cottage where he took up gardening which he greatly enjoyed. He loved farming, hunting and dancing but most of all the love of his life was his wife Kitty and their family.

Chosen bearers: Richard Trewern, Matthew Stobie, Ted Blake, Stanley Charleston, Percy Lawry and Jonathan Sobey.

Family mourners: Kitty, wife; Larry and Sandra, son and daughter-in-law; Judy and Nick, daughter and son-in-law; Richard, Sara, Matthew, Claire and Joe, grandchildren; Doreen, sister; Peter and Debbie, nephew; Christine, Stuart and Kirsty, Jeanette, Keith and Bianca, nieces; numerous cousins, friends and representatives from Four Burrow Hunt, Cury Hunt, Western Hunt, Cornish Mutual, Zoar Garage, Trenoweth Chapel and Mabe Gardening Club attended.
