Residents and visitors alike are being encouraged to take full advantage of the entertainment programme being laid on for the Tall Ships regatta – and as an added incentive, it’s all absolutely free.

The main regatta entertainment centre will be at Events Square where Thursday’s opening night headliner will be Port Isaac’s finest, Fisherman's Friends who will take to the main stage at 8pm.

Sponsored by St Austell Brewery's Tribute Ale, the Cornish shanty group will delight festival goers with their own brand of Cornish harmony singing, returning to Falmouth for their second performance this year.

Then on Friday, at 9.30pm, the eight-piece Booze Brothers promise a “white knuckle ride” through soul/rhythm ‘n’ blues folklore, with favourites from The Blues Brothers and Motown.

Abba Revival, described as “without a doubt the best Abba tribute band to emerge from the UK” will headline on Saturday at 9.30pm, no doubt getting the crowds singing along as they belt out many of the Swedish supergroup’s many hits.

Finally, bringing the curtain down on the regatta following the Parade of Sail, Cornwall’s own Motown Pirates will take to the stage at around 6.30pm.

Elsewhere, the best of local talent will also be showcased at the SourceFM acoustic stage at the Church Street car park regatta centre where there will be live music 11am until 9pm from Thursday to Saturday and 11am to 4pm on Sunday.
