“We were looking for a place with two houses that were equally special. Many other properties had a wonderful main house but the adjoining house was disappointing.

I remember walking into the Mill house after viewing the farmhouse and feeling an overwhelming excitement as it would be me living there. I particularly loved going to sleep with the sound of the stream running by and the hooting of owls. It always felt such a safe place, even when I was there alone.

The main house was perfect for large family gatherings, everyone could be easily seated in the dining room for Christmas while the huge lounge especially with the patio doors open, was perfect for summer parties.

The garden is spectacular in spring and summer and the bird life is outstanding. I saw my first Nuthatch, there is a king fisher who comes and ducks regularly land on the pond to have their ducklings. We have also seen stoats, water voles, deer, badgers and of course frogs and toads. I will miss sitting drinking coffee and watching the swallows fly.”

A wonderful example of a period country home with stylish and practical improvements but still exuding classic characterful features. This is accompanied by a charming detached converted mill, perfect for a dependent relative or a beautiful holiday let, as it's currently used. All set within an acre of mature grounds, beautiful gardens with large ponds.

An inner hall services the dining room and kitchen to the front. The well-proportioned dining room is a great space with wonderful feature stone and granite fireplace and access to the rear hall. The beautiful modern kitchen comprises Shaker style floor and wall cabinetry, Belling range style cooker, undercounter and plinth LED's, inset Belfast sink, polished granite worktop and peninsula, integrated dishwasher plus room for a breakfast table.

A rear lobby from the kitchen opens to the garden, hallway and the utility/cloakroom that offers useful storage, sink, w/c and space for washing machine and dryer. The large hallway with generous built in pine storage cupboards leads to the living room, arguably the best room in the house and a fantastic modern addition. A stunning dual aspect lounge boasts an inglenook style stone fireplace, wood burner, slate hearth and iron lintel, a nostalgic reference to the old working mill and twin double doors to the garden providing excellent light. A sizable yet cosy living room with garden and rural views.

First floor accommodation comprises four bedrooms including a beautiful master en-suite with a large sash window and window seat, a charming fire place and built in storage to either side, finished with traditional oak doors. The lovely balance between period character and modern finishes continue with the stylishly appointed en-suite bathroom and family bathroom that offers similar class but also a separate large shower.

The gorgeous converted stone mill is set over three floors with two en-suite double bedrooms and an open plan living area. A beautiful flag stone floored entrance sets the tone of the characterful features and materials throughout. Further period detail includes hard wood flooring, deep slate sill windows, oak lintels, exposed stone and most notably the stunning beams in the second-floor master and en-suite. All contributing to a rustic but warm feeling in every room. Both en-suites are stylishly appointed with a shower on the ground floor and bath in the master. The middle floor is an open plan kitchen/living/dining room with a stable door to a generous decked balcony with country views and tranquil sounds of the flowing stream. A separate drive leads to the mill making this an ideal holiday let option.
