The Lithuanian-born violist Ugne Tiskute performs with pianist Alexandra Vaduva for the Roseland Music Society later this month.

Ugne studied at the Royal Academy of Music and, as well as being a solo artist, is a member of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the Ensemble Mirage.

As a soloist and chamber musician she has performed in various concert venues across Europe and China, including the Wigmore Hall, Palacio de Festivales in Cantabria and Shanghai Oriental Art Centre.

In addition to performing some of the great works written for viola and piano by Schubert and Schumann – she will perform a 21st century work by composer Rebecca Clarke. Alexandra will also play Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata.

Tickets for the concert on Friday, February 28 (7.30pm) are £12 for society members, £15 for non-members and £5 for students in full-time education.

It will be held at Gerrans Parish Memorial Hall.

Any schoolchild under 16, when accompanied by a ticket-holding adult, will be admitted free of charge.
