FOUR brilliant young singers and musicians from the USA are including Marazion as part of their latest international tour with a not-to-be missed concert on Sunday at 7.30pm.

The group, called Windborne, is renowned for its richly harmonised singing arrangements and will be featuring songs from their hit 2017 album, Song on the Times.

The concert will feature rousing, moving, emotional and uplifting folk music from working class movements for peoples’ rights in the US and UK over the past 400 years, all of which still resonate strongly with the challenges and struggles of today.

“Windborne not only move and inspire audiences with their powerful emotion and story-telling but also delight with their stunning vocal arrangements, humour and enthusiasm", said Pip Wright, local choir leader and the organiser for the weekend. “The four members have a wonderful rapport with each other and the audience, explaining about the music they are so passionate about and the characteristics and stylistic elements of the traditions in which they sing”.

The four members of Windborne have collected and studied polyphonic vocal music for over 15 years from traditional singing masters from cultures around the world.

The group is able to shift from radically different genres such as an improvised Corsican couplet song to an English ballad.

Tickets for the concert at Marazion Community Centre are £10, available from www.crbo.co.uk and on the door. There is also a one-day workshop with the group on Saturday from 10am-4pm.
