Falmouth Packet: When you look back to life in Falmouth during lockdown in May 2020 things were very different to what they apparently were in Downing Street.

While the prime minister was allegedly enjoying drinks in the garden with Carrie and 30 to 40 members of staff in the sunshine, we weren’t even allowed to gather on the beach.

The town was full of police vans and patrols cracking down on anyone who appeared to be enjoying themselves.

I haven’t heard of any officers from the Metropolitan Police arriving to break up the supposed Downing Street party, even though they were literally outside the door. Meanwhile a mother sitting on Gyllyngvase Beach with two young children was being approached by Covid patrols and told to move on.

Much more seriously, 86 people had died in Cornwall’s hospitals without any of their relatives even able to say goodbye, let alone have a party.

How many more revelations will there be like this? They are just constant. The prime minister has lost all respect and must go.

You cannot have one rule for the privileged and another rule for everybody else. As one grieving daughter said, at the same time as the party is said to have taken place, Boris Johnson had looked her in the eye and told her he had done everything he could.

The new revelations about leaving parties at Number 10 on the eve of Prince Phillip's funeral with staff members sent out to get suitcases full of booze when the Queen was forced to sit alone the next day, just shows that the Prime Minister was not in charge and chaos ruled.

Any manager of even the smallest company would be justifiably sacked for allowing such behaviour to go unchecked, so why not the Prime Minister?
