Over the last three years every time I’ve gone into Nat West Falmouth, a member of staff have been at the door encouraging all customer’s to use the automated system and to sign into on line banking.

This must have been requested from much higher above, as it has been the norm at all Nat West branches for the same period.

Every time my wife or I was approached we refused pointing out, that should they all achieve a high percentage success rate then they could at least expect a high percentage redundancy and at worse total branch closures.

During the same period, depositing or withdrawing any amount of my own money over a certain amount that I’ve worked hard for, paid tax on and saved for our retirement has seemed to attract scrutiny. What’s going on?
