THE BID team for a town in Cornwall have just announced that its summer programme will be doubling the amount of weekly entertainment it puts on.

'Camborne Fridays' will now have twice the amount of free street entertainment booked after receiving positive feedback from its events.

Organised and funded by BID Camborne, this year’s summer programme includes a penny farthing bike with bubbles, stilt walking, face painting, storytelling, balloon modelling, living statues and music.

There is also a Sweetshop of Words that has been described as being like an interactive fairground stall that combines sweets with quirky prizes.

Fun Fridays have been a regular Camborne feature, but this year the BID team have decided to double their number in response to positive public and levy payer feedback.

BID Camborne manager, Anna Pascoe, said: "People love being able to see and do something different in the town centre – it really lightens the mood and provides something to smile and laugh about.

"Some of the acts are very intriguing and I’m personally looking forward to seeing the penny farthing bike and finding out more about the Sweetshop of Words.

"We believe Fun Fridays set our town apart and that they’re an extra good reason for visiting, especially during the summer holidays when families are looking for things to do."

The new activities will run every Friday until 19 September 2022.
