A POPULAR theme park in Cornwall has released its August evening events programme.

Flambards Theme Park’s award-winning firework spectaculars made a triumphant return to wow audiences on Wednesday.

The August evening events programme at the Helston attraction features live music and later opening times for rides, culminating in pulsating pyrotechnics to round off a fun-filled day.

Richard Welby, general manager, said: "A Tina Turner tribute provided a fantastic start to our evening events schedule and after a rather blustery day, thankfully it stayed dry to give us a perfect opening night.

"We’re really excited to welcome a selection of amazing tribute acts and entertainment with a fantastic fireworks finale to end each of these evenings, ensuring that the summer holidays go with a bang for our loyal visitors."

Following jaw-dropping tricks from RPM Bike Trials stunt team on Wednesday, Tina – aka Karin Bello – strutted her stuff. Karin, who is originally from Los Angeles and a regular performer in London’s West End, entertained the crowd with her powerful vocals, costume changes and boundless energy.

Park mascot Ferdi the Fox also made an appearance to provide selfie opportunities for the youngsters, and he met the Flambards-sponsored Under 13s Culdrose Ospreys football team.

The evening sessions continue on Monday when an Elton John tribute will take to the stage, with Billie Eilish providing the soundtrack to Wednesday’s entertainment.

Acts performing in the coming weeks are:

  • 07/08 Elton John Tribute
  • 09/08 Billie Eilish Tribute
  • 14/08 Abba Duo Tribute
  • 16/08 George Ezra Tribute
  • 21/08 Anne-Marie Tribute
  • 23/08 Bryan Adams Tribute
  • 28/08 Elton John Tribute
  • 30/08 Rudi’s Message, Local Act

Visitors to the park can take a spin on the Hornet Rollercoaster, check out the amazing views from the top of SkyRaker, brave the Thunderbolt and prepare to get wet on the Colorado River log flume.

Fantastic soft play space Ferdi’s Indoor Play, which this year is included in the Flambards admission price, is another great option to keep youngsters entertained.

Traditional fun is guaranteed on the Carousel and its colourful horses and there’s plenty to entertain little ones in Ferdi’s Funland. Spot life-sized dinosaurs on an adventure in Jurassic journey, visit the Dino-Nursery to see the latest arrivals and join the dino-dig to unearth fossils.

Flambards’ indoor attractions create an evocative atmosphere of bustling streets and alleyways, with more than 50 recreated shops and scenes in the Victorian Village. Britain in the Blitz presents a life-size street during WWII, with the deafening sounds of the air raid siren, while visitors feel the ground shake as another bomb goes off.
