THE operators of an iconic Cornish landmark have announced a 'free photo opportunity' ahead of redevelopment works at the site.

Land's End Landmark, the operators of the iconic Land's End Signpost, have announced a 'free photo opportunity' ahead of the ongoing redevelopment of the attraction.

According to the update, a temporary signpost has been fitted in order for guests to continue to enjoy the attraction and will serve as "a free photo opportunity for all visitors to enjoy, ahead of the new personalised experience opening in early spring 2024."

In an update posted online on its social media page, Land's End Landmark said: "As the redevelopment works for the new personalised signpost experience continue to take place, the new temporary signpost has been fitted for our visitors to continue creating their memorable photos here at Land’s End.

"This signpost will be a free photo opportunity for all visitors to enjoy, ahead of the new personalised experience opening in early spring 2024.

"You can find this temporary signpost located at the front of The Land’s End Hotel patio.

"We look forward to seeing you all soon."

As revealed last week, Courtwood Photographic, the Penzance-based company that ran the iconic signpost at Land's End, will not have its contract renewed by the Land's End administration.

The news was broken online by Peter Puddiphatt, who worked taking photographs of people at the site, after he concluded his 28-year career on December 28, prompting fears of the signpost's complete disappearance.

However, Land's End Landmark, the company that operates the site released a statement reassuring visitors that the signpost would remain as a photo opportunity at Land’s End, and that it was only the Courtwood Photographic Ltd contract that has come to an end.
