With Glastonbury weekend just passed it is safe to say we are now well into festival season. Luckily, there is not a shortage of mini festivals and concerts taking place round these parts over the summer months.

Source FM's free concert, Park Live, took place last Sunday, June 28 drawings crowds of picnickers and music lovers to the park.

Park Live is a series of free concerts that the community radio station puts on over the summer, usually taking place on the last Sunday of the month though July's concert will be on Sunday, 19.

Source FM station manager, Roger Mathews, commented on the weekend’s concert:

“It was fantastic. Personally it was one of the best because it was one of the least stress-full Park Lives we have done. It was really rewarding to put it on when a bit gloomy in the morning and then as it brightens up, and the grass dries up, you start to see people emerging from over the hill. Park Live has really established itself this year, people are returning to it.”

This is the third year that Park Live has been running and recently the station has managed to buy a new PA system for Park Live after receiving funding from Cornwall Council. The next Park Live concert will be on Sunday, July 19.

Roger Mathews continues:

“We feel much more comfortable now in what we put on.”
