The Little Orchard Cider and Music Festival has launched the Grandmas’ Sofa Derby in which a squad of grandmas, armed with Werther’s Originals and Sherbet Lemons, will battle it out on motorised sofas.
Away from the comfort of the cushions, Little Orchard’s pensioners are likely to be found sipping gin and dancing like noone’s watching at Grandma’s Funky Wardrobe.
Also new this year are BBC Introducing in Cornwall Fireside Acoustic Sessions which will see a selection of the region’s rising stars jamming beneath the moonlight for a series of intimate music performances.
Undergoing a festival makeover, the silent disco is set to be the most magical to date. Accessed through a hobbit’s entrance via a secret tunnel, party goers can dance and sing among the trees at this year’s Silent Disco in the Orchard.
This year’s festival headliners are The Fratellis, Hayseed Dixie and The Wurzels.
The jam-packed weekend runs from September 14-16 at Healey’s Cyder Farm in Penhallow.
