Trelissick is set to light up the festive season with garden illuminations and Christmas decorations during December.

As dusk settles on Friday 30 November visitors will be treated to spectacle of colour as Trelissick’s illuminations cast a new light on the garden.

Dozens of Christmas trees, garlands and wreaths decorate the house and stable yard, creating an enchanting atmosphere to enjoy the yuletide delights on offer. There are festive family games and mulled wine to warm guests as they gather round the Christmas tree and join in the traditional carols.

Father Christmas will arrive on weekends in December to entertain families with his festive tales. This year Father Christmas is telling the heart-warming story of ‘The Lost Reindeer’ to an audience, with tickets available for timed bookings. Visitors can see Father Christmas’ reindeer for yourselves when they make flying visits on Saturdays.

Viv Henley, Visitor Experience Manager at Trelissick, said: "Christmas at Trelissick, the illuminations especially, is a tradition for many people. You can expect the hallmarks of Christmas here from the huge tree twinkling in the stable yard to the fabulously lit columns of the house. Visitors will also find they are taken on a new path through the illuminated garden this year; with different areas lit up there are lots of exciting new developments we can’t wait to share with you all."

You can also look forward to a more relaxed Christmas shopping experience when visiting the gallery and shop, the proceeds of which supports conservation work at Trelissick. The same goes for treats enjoyed from the cafes. Every mince pie or hot chocolate sold goes a long way in helping keep Trelissick special for many more Christmases to come.
