FALMOUTH will be getting a taste of the East this month, as Eat Sushi Drink Sake, a Japanese |pop-up shop comes to town.

On October 19 the Fish Factory will be the home of Eat Sushi Drink Sake, allowing guests to swirl, sniff, sip and savor exciting recipes and beverages all the way from Japan.

There will be a food stall serving tasty authentic sushi and a|selection of other Japanese recipes.

A sake and beer bar will |showcase an unusual range of |beverages to whet the appetite. This event will offer a fresh spin on Cornish seafood by using local ingredients and producers where possible.

At the event there will also be a tea ceremony, a kimono rack,| bonsai pots, music and |photography to inspire guests and to introduce guests to the |traditional culture of Japan.

Masuyo Kunimi of Kacho, a Japanese gift shop in Falmouth’s Old High Street hosts the event.

Masuyo said: “The English and Japanese coast offers us both the exiting opportunity to eat fresh seafood. Cornwall has been my home for a few years now and I want to share some of my cuisine.

“I have built strong relations with local people and producers and would like to do something interesting with their seasonal products’ Charlotte Jackman-Bloom, event co-ordinator said: “Eat Sushi Drink Sake will integrate people through tasty food and new experiences. Masuyo is passionate about |teaming together seasonal Cornish products through Japanese dishes. This really is not one to miss!’ Capacity is limited.
