The Exchange Art Gallery in Penzance is ending a successful summer season with a series of supper clubs for those who like to mix fine dining with contemporary art.

The supper clubs aims to bring gourmet eating to the town alongside contemporary exhibitions and feature guest chefs as well as guest artists, as well as offering a chance for supporters of The Exchange to meet up.

This Friday (September 23) sees Exchange deputy director and exhibitions curator Blair Todd bring a choice menu to the gallery. Blair will present a three-course meal with an Indian twist consisting of bhel puri, smoked salmon poke and mango lassi (a vegetarian/vegan option is available).

Tickets for this supper club are £15, and available from eventbrite.co.uk/e/a-curators-supper-exchange-supper-club-tickets-27725166720, or on the night. Food is served from 6.30pm to 9pm, and spaces are limited to so booking is advisable.

On September 30, renowned chef Lee Skeet will present the next supper club at The Exchange. After two successful St Ives pop-up restaurants, Lee will be cooking in Penzance for the first time by collaborating with The Exchange to host an intimate supper club.

Having worked alongside Gordon Ramsay and Marcus Wareing, before becoming head chef at the Michelin starred Hedone, in London, Lee has now moved back to the south west and this will be the fourth in a series of very successful collaborations in Cornwall, in venues ranging from beach huts, galleries and breweries.

The meal is priced at £25 for a three-course set menu, showcasing some of the area’s local produce. Diners can expect dishes including local mackerel and roast pork belly. Tickets can be obtained from: https://billetto.co.uk/en/events/lee-skeet-at-the-exchange-penzance. Tickets include entrance to the art gallery throughout the evening.

Operations manager Sian Andrews said: “The notion behind The Exchange Supper Clubs is to present fabulous food, in an informal setting with an artistic backdrop.”

The current exhibition at The Exchange is Imran Quereshi: See How the Dark of Night is Red, an installation where, characteristically, painted imagery spills from large canvases, across wall and floors.
