Charlie will be at Hall for Cornwall on Tuesday at 7.30pm. Tickets are £18.50 and £20.50. A £1.50 handling charge is payable per transaction. Call the Box Office on 01872 262 466 or book online at www.hallforcornwall.co.uk

What's the best gig you've been to?
Jim Rooney and his Irregulars at the Station Inn in Nashville.

Best new band?
Elbow Jane

What's your perfect day?
My perfect day would in 24 hours encompass seeing all my grandchildren, a game of golf with old friends the delightful Gerry Marsden and Ricky Tomlinson, a stroll around the Rocks in Sydney Harbour with my wife Thelma, watching Alison Krauss and Union Gap, a few beers with all my old friends in a downtown Birkenhead pub, a soft bed and a sleep in the knowledge that the following day was mine to do with as I wished. Not much to ask!

Favourite place in Cornwall
Truro because of the venue , the audiences and the memories they evoke.

Best gig you've ever played?
Liverpool festival before an audience of four thousand people including my family and my friends and because I sang accompanied by the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra which had always been an ambition of mine.

If you weren't you, who would you be?
Anyone other than a |politician, a banker , a lawyer, a salesman , in other words someone in an honest |profession. Other than that maybe Superman.

Best advice you've ever been given?
Be honest, be kind and be yourself.

What's next for you?
I haven't much of a clue but then that's part of the adventure.

What frightens you?
The worry that people I love may not accept the invitation of Christ and miss the prospect of heaven. I'm also afraid of heights, and I'm not fond of flying or cockroaches. Bit of a wimp really.

Finally, Pint or a Pasty?
Both, but twixt the two it would have to be a pint or even two or three and after that who cares! Then you can bring on the heights, the|flying, the cockroaches but only until I sober up!
