A group of Cornwall and London-based artists and performers are set to stage a unique celebration of the late David Bowie in venues across Cornwall.
First performed in 2013, The Bowie Lounge was a mixture of music, art, dance and spoken word taking inspiration from the Beckenham Arts Labs of the late 60's.
The sequel event, entitled Bowie Lounge 2, is a combination of stripped down versions of many of the icon's greatest songs combined with readings, dance and live painting to re?ect the astonishing creativity of Bowie’s career.
Bowie Lounge 2 features Keith Sparrow, Paul Drayton, Liam Jolly, Elaine Claxton, Juliet Walshe, Star, Paul Wadsworth, Timo Kaltio, Beki Cowey and Toby Seth.
Keith Sparrow said: “I’m at pains to point out it’s not a tribute band, we’ll leave that to others; but if you love Bowie’s work like I do I think you’ll get what we’re doing here. I’d like to think he would as well.”
The Bowie Lounge 2 will take place at The Poly in Falmouth on Saturday, October 1 at 8pm. Tickets cost £10 and are available from the box office on 01326 319461, or online at thepoly.org.
Performances will also take place at The Old Bakery Studios in Truro on Saturday, October 8 at 8pm and The Guildhall, St Ives on Saturday, October 15 at 8pm. Tickets for these events are available online at crbo.co.uk, or by calling 01726 879500.
