Hot on the heels of its ‘sinsational’ Halloween shindig, the Masked Ball is putting a spring in your step by releasing the first details of next year’s May Bank Holiday party.

The 'budget-friendly' Spring Masked Ball will offer hedonists three decadent days of dance and debauchery, on a site carved into the cliffs above Mount’s Bay.

The first line-up announcement reveals Hot Chip’s Joe Goddard, fresh from supporting LCD Soundsystem and Soulwax, will be manning the decks in Grand Ball Room on the Saturday night, alongside party legends Optimo, Fort Romeau and Ball favourites Psychemagik.

Also returning to the ball’s traditional Porthleven home for 2018, is the hit venue The Underworld, including the sleazy New York disco venue Coney Island, featuring legends Horse Meat Disco. 45 Live return to the Sedgwick Ave with a celebration of Hip Hop.

Two further venues are yet to be announced within the labyrinth of night-time sleaze.

Masked Ball director Kelvin Batt said: “Following the great success of the recent Halloween Masked Ball and last year’s Spring Masked Ball, we’ve been busy trying to think of ways to top the vibe at those events.

“So we’re bringing back The Underworld, the hot tubs as well as conjuring up a few special surprises in the true Masked Ball tradition.”

Adding to the music mix will be Daft as Punk, recreating the full Alive Pyramid show alongside Princeless, who played a storming set at the Masked Ball in 2015, and party legends Dicky Trisco and Pete Herbert.

Kelvin added: “We’ve kept the ticket price down, while upping the production once again to create one of the most affordable and value for money festivals in the UK."

The Masked Ball will take place from May 25 to 27, at Beacon Crag, Porthleven.
