A Falmouth based band that formed last year have been getting an increasing amount of gigs on the circuit, including the recent last ever Holifair Festival and will next play Jacob’s Ladder in the town this Friday.

Now progressive punk rock, or Pronk, band Universal Revolution have been asked to play two consecutive gigs in Falmouth, after featuring at the Rugby Club before the Falmouth week procession alongside Pons Buffalo and Ben Rule, amongst others.

Universal Revolution consists of Andy Wylie on main vocals and guitar, Jason Landfear on bass, Chris Hicklin on lead guitar and some vocals, as is Ian Stride who, like Chris, has written and sings front vocals on one of the band's newer songs.

As a songwriting team, Universal Revolution have built up an hour's set, which was first performed in full at Holifair when they took to the “Mane" stage on Saturday, August 4.

In the hot sunshine and with quite a few wasps buzzing about, Universal Revolution played to a shaded tent full of mostly Cornwall-based audience members, attracting a few dancers who headed out into the sunshine, including a toddler who watched the band intently until he was carried away.

Universal Revolution play Jacob's Ladder on Friday from 9pm, which is free entry with Ben Rule providing support.
