GETTING set to once again wow the |audiences, Helston Theatre Company has announced that it will be performing the Rice and Lloyd Webber spectacular Joseph and his Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

Earlier this year Helston was treated to a spectacular sell out production of Oliver!

The same artistic team, and many of the same cast, are currently in rehearsal for the performance which is being presented by Helston Methodist Church Drama Group (HMCDG) at the end of October.

The group is staging a version of Joseph based on the 1993 UK Tour which is only|available to professional and advanced amateur groups. It closely resembles the full professional production with |extended and enhanced score, fantastic Megamix encore. This differs from the shorter, basic version that is generally performed by schools.

Many people still remember the 2007 BBC TV programme Any Dream Will Do when the British public voted for Lee Mead to become “the people’s Joseph”.

However, no TV talent show was |needed for Helston to find their Joseph but it was a challenging audition which |eventually cast Gary Hosler in the title role and Stephanie Rosewarne as the Narrator who is rarely off stage during the course of the production.

The cast of 50 includes 14 children and the production team are Paul Blaber as director; Jenny Rapson as MD and Anita O’Hara as chorographer.

Joseph and his Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat will be performed from October 30 to November 2 each|evening plus a matinee on November 2.

Tickets are now on sale at Heathercraft, Coinagehall Street, Helston or by calling 01326 568936.

The show is expected to sell out so make sure you are not disappointed and buy your tickets early.
