The telling of ghost stories is an age-old traditon, and audiences across Cornwall will be in for a scare with some unearthly entertainment this autumn.

Ghost stories is a double bill of supernatural tales adapted for stage, brought to you by Hopeful Monsters Theatre Company.

The plays, From the Ground written by Lawrence Gordon Clark, and Lost Hearts adapted by Lawrence from the original MR James novel will be coming to a number of Cornish venues in St Ives, Liskeard, Tregoose and Bodmin.

These stories delve into the unknown world where spirits roam ready to avenge the crimes done to them in their day.

Writer, Lawrence Gordon Clark, uses horror and humour to tell these stories, and Lucy Gordon Clark, the director, guarantees fear and fun ‘a’ plenty.

An aficionado of eerie tales, Lawrence directed the series, A Ghost Story For Christmas in |the seventies for the BBC, and has since then produced and directed many further ghost stories for |television, including the series Chillers.

This is Hopeful Monsters second production in Cornwall, having been set up by Lucy Gordon Clark, Robbi Stevens and Vicky Powell in Camden, London in 1993. Lucy also runs Hopeful Monsters Youth Theatre in Wadebridge.

So as the summer draws to a close and the dark evenings set in what better way to spend a|frightfully fun evening sharing some spooky tales with family and friends.
