Comedian and musician Bill Bailey will be in Truro for four nights after he announced a slew of extra dates to his 2018 live tour, Larks in Transit, now on sale.

Larks in Transit is a compendium of travellers’ tales and the general shenanigans of twenty years on the road as a comedian. With musical virtuosity, surreal tangents and trademark wit, Bill Bailey will tackle politics, philosophy and the pursuit of happiness.

He will also fashion a symphony from a ringtone, tell the real story of Old McDonald and re-imagine the Stars and Stripes.

Having played at the first ever Comedy Session at the iconic Eden Project in Cornwall, the comic is a regular on the festival circuit with previous appearances at both Kew The Music and the Reading and Leeds Festival, to name but two.

Following eleven successful and enjoyable series, autumn 2008 saw Bill step down from his role as team captain on the long running music and comedy panel show, Never Mind The Buzzcocks, and his TV portfolio includes three series of the hit black comedy Black Books in which he played the increasingly deranged ex-accountant Manny Bianco, cult hit Spaced, and appearances in Jonathan Creek, teen drama Skins and a Doctor Who Christmas Special.

In December 2010 Bill starred in and co-wrote and directed (alongside Joe Magee) his own short film, Carpark Babylon, for Sky1’s Little Crackers series, and he has indulged his interest in nature by hosting the wildlife series Wild Thing I Love You and Bill Bailey’s Birdwatching Bonanza, while Bill Bailey’s Jungle Hero won a hat trick of awards at the Royal Television Society West of England Awards.

He has also appeared on the big screen in the film Saving Grace, had a cameo appearance in Hot Fuzz and played Farmer Macreadie in the comedy sequel, Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang, with appearances in John Landis comedy Burke and Hare and the snowboarding rom-com, Chalet Girl.

Bill Bailey will be at the Hall for Cornwall in Truro next year, from February 19 to 22, with shows starting at 8pm.

Tickets cost £27.50 plus administration fees, and are available from ticketmaster.co.uk or by calling 01872 262466.
