Acclaimed dance-circus company Motionhouse will be bringing their new production Charge to Hall for Cornwall on March 2 and 3.

The new multimedia show is about energy - from the electrical charge that sparks human life, to the beating of our hearts and the memories we make. Six performers use dance and acrobatics to delve deep into human body, tracing the incredible story of energy in our lives.

Four years in the making, Charge is a unique and exciting collaboration that draws together art and science. The company worked with Professor Frances Ashcroft and her team from the University of Oxford to place science at the heart of the creation of the show.

Using the company’s trademark combination of dance-circus, digital imagery and extraordinary set design, this fusion of film and live performance brings to life cell division, energy storage, organic composition and weather patterns in a powerful narrative.

Charge is created and directed by Motionhouse’s artistic director, Kevin Finnan, choreographer and movement director of the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Paralympic Games. It is the third element of his renowned Earth Trilogy, developing on themes explored in the hugely successful Scattered (2009) and Broken (2013) about our relationship with water and the Earth.
