Independent cinema is in sharp focus as Cornwall Film Festival has a thought-provoking and challenging showcase from November 9-11 at The Poly in Falmouth.
The highlight of the festival is the Q&A with Mike Leigh ((Mr Turner, Happy-Go-Lucky), festival patron and director of Peterloo after the showing of the epic historical drama.
The film shows the 1819 Peterloo Massacre on an ambitious scale and stars Maxine Peake (Funny Cow, Silk) and Rory Kinnear (Skyfall, Black Mirror).
Now in its 17th year, the festival caters for connoisseurs and casual viewers alike, with a programme curated to reflect the theme of resistance.
There are more ticket and pass options than ever before, because the organisers want to make sure everyone can afford to enjoy it. This includes a new sliding scale ticket pricing system for specific films, which allows guests to turn up on the day and purchase a ticket for anything from £2-£8, depending on what they feel they can afford.
