WITH reference to the article in the Falmouth Packet regarding the traffic trial through Falmouth. I believe no traffic should be allowed through Falmouth, only delivery vehicles. People and cars do not mix, especially through Arwenack Street.
I have been brushed against by inconsiderate motorists, some even speed through Falmouth and it is highly dangerous even more so in the height of the season, May-October and most of all is the vehicles going down to the car park by the Grapes and coming out opposite the Arcade.
I have visited places in Devon and Portugal where they have traffic free zones, which work well. So now it is about time this was applied to Falmouth. Shops that say business would suffer is rubbish, other places get on and are very busy.
Along the street you have mothers with push chairs, disabled and elderly people, so people and vehicles do not mix, it is dangerous.
Ban all vehicles now and allow only delivery vehicles with deliveries before 11am and after 4pm.
