Yesterday afternoon a helper of Father Christmas called at my property, he arrived by delivery van and tried to hand me a large parcel. I was reluctant to take the parcel from him initially, I thought he must be at the wrong property. I had not ordered anything and no one has ever sent me a parcel that big before.
(The only large present I have ever been given was by my late husband, and that turned out to be a vacuum cleaner, he never was very romantic, he once sent me card saying “on ‘your’ anniversary” and when I pointed it out, he could not see what was wrong with it.)
The delivery man asked me to sign for the parcel, so I checked it was definitely for me and signed for it. I then asked him if he knew what it was, and he said a hamper.
Finally I realised where it had come from, (I had completely forgotten about the Packet competition) it was such a lovely surprise, it is wrapped in lovely Christmas paper with a nice bow. It made my day and has really made my Christmas. It is greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.
