Can I say how much I enjoyed talking to the children at Halwin School about my growing up during World War Two and answering their very interesting questions; I could handle 44 district councillors when chair at Kerrier but 30 schoolchildren.
How well behaved they were. A credit to their parents and the head and teachers at Halwin School; a lovely rural school with over 80 pupils near Porkellis.
The school desperately needs to replace old play equipment and any help/donation made out to Halwin C/P School would, I’m sure, be most welcome. Anyone got a spare £15,000? You never know.
A total of £25,000 raised, by the way, for the RNIB Blind Children’s Appeal last year – a record. Albums, new and used stamps plus unwanted new items always welcome. Porch open or leave at Four Lanes Post Office.
